"Manners maketh man"
William of Wykeham
I think this quote means that manners make someone who they are. Manners represent who you are and your image. So if you don't have good manners and are rude then you will not be respected as a man/female because your manners represent what you stand for and who you are.

Christmas Winter Break

I slept in for most of my break which is something you can't do when there is school. I also spent time with family and friends on Christmas and New Years. Some of the places I went was downtown LA. It's really nice, there's a lot of art, restaurants, and tall buildings. I also went ice skating in downtown LA. it was fun because I already know a little about how to skate so I didn't spend my time learning because I knew the basics. Some movies I watched on Netflix were The Grinch, Click, She's Out Of My League and many more. A sport I played was soccer with my friends and also with my team. I also watched a league final in a soccer league in Mexico. I also spent most of my break practicing how to drive. I already knew how to drive but never had time to get better at it and this winter break I got a lot of practice in.

"If it is not right do not do it, if it is not true do not say it"
Marcus Aurelius
 Image result for marcus aurelius
This statement is very true because sometimes people try to peer pressure you into doing things but if it is  not the right thing to do. An example of this is when your friends try to convince you to smoke, and you know it is the wrong thing to do, don't do it because you need to choose the right. If it is not true, don't say it because especially in school with students spreading false rumors about people maybe even some teachers.

"Honesty is the best policy"
Mark Twain
Image result for mark twain
Honesty is the best policy because without honesty there wouldn't be integrity. Being honest makes people feel good inside. When you lie, it doesn't sit well in your soul. If you're honest, you will always be trusted by people because you never lie or cheat. Being honest gives you a good image and perception.

My Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving Week
I watched a lot of Netflix and Disney+ and some movies I watched were Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs, Avengers: End Game and many more. A CTR experience was I donated to $1 to charity when I bought some new shoes. Sports events that I watched was the Marquez final in El Camino College. Unfortunately, they lost but the nachos were very good. I also played a lot of soccer during the week at Salt Lake Park and Debs Park. It was fun because it was very cold and it's just nice weather to play in. After we played we got some hot chocolate and a doughnut from Tony's Doughnut House. I slept a lot because I didn't have places to be and didn't have to wake up early. Played a lot of video games like God of War, Fifa 20, Fortnite. For thanksgiving I ate tamales, turkey, cheesy potatoes, etc. That basically sums up my break.

"These are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity
  1. Have the courage to say no
  2. Have the courage to face the truth
  3. Do the right thing because it is right" W. Clement Stone
Image result for W.Clement Stone
Having the courage to say no is a skill that anyone can have, but not everyone has it. If you learn to say no, you have more courage than others. The people that do drugs and go to parties instead of studying are the ones that are too coward to say no. Only the brave say no, even if everyone else is doing it. Having the courage to face the truth because the truth can help you grow.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day
Image result for thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a holiday that happens in various countries like the United States, Canada, some Caribbean Islands and Liberia. The first Thanksgiving was in England with the pilgrims. In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is known today as the First Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was celebrated individually by colonies and states but it wasn't until 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it as a national holiday and should be celebrated on the last Thursday of November.

List of things I am thankful for:
  • My parents
  • A house
  • Food
  • My friends
  • My clothes
  • Transportation
  • Extra things I don't need (video games, multiple pairs of shoes, latest phone, etc.)

"Right is right, and wrong is wrong no matter the circumstances"
Yong-In S. Shin
Image result for right is right and wrong is wrong
Right is right and wrong is wrong, no matter the circumstances. Even if you are with 50 people, wrong is still wrong and right is still right. Even if you are with 0 people, wrong is still wrong and right is still right. One example is if you are at a party with your friends and they are breaking the laws, then you shouldn't do it, because you know it is still wrong even you are with your friends at a party and want to look cool. Another example is if you see an elderly person struggling to put their groceries in their trunk, even if you are with 0 people or 20 people, you know the right thing to do is help that person.

"Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it."
William Penn

I think this quote means that even if everyone is doing it, does not mean that you should follow them and do it and it doesn't make what they're doing right. Even if everyone is not doing it, does not mean it's wrong. Right is right and wrong is wrong. If you're at a party and everyone is smoking and doing drugs then you know it is wrong, even if everyone in the party is doing it.

"A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life" Coach K

Coach K is the coach with most wins in college basketball history with 1000 wins for Duke University.  I believe having a good name can be better for your life in the long run. A good name is what you leave behind, so it has to be one to remember.

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches" Proverbs 22:1
Image result for a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches
I think this quote means that life isn't about being rich and having lots of cars or houses, sometimes it is about being a good person and having a good reputation. In the long run, a good name would last longer than riches because a legacy can never fade, but money will eventually end. One day your Lamborghini will get too old to ride, one day your house can set on fire and it could all end right there in a matter of seconds. But a good name will forever be there and can never go away.

"If your so called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow."
Thomas S. Monson
Image result for thomas s monson
I think this quote means to not be a follower. Just because everyone is doing something doesn't mean you should do it either because it's not always the correct thing to do. This quote is saying to make your own correct path even if you are alone. Be the light that guides people into the correct path. Stand for whats right, not for wrong, even if everyone else is standing for that.

"When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation: instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block."  James E. Faust
Image result for james e. faust
I think what this quote is trying to say is that we learn from our mistakes and one way to do that is to be obedient. When we acknowledge our mistakes, fix them and change them for new goals, such as being obedient, then our mistakes no longer become an obstacle, they become a experience that you can build on.
